It’s not every band who would put out a single detailing a satellite’s view on humanity’s failings, so Stop Eject are to applauded for their bonkers art statement balls. What’s more, the tune zips along and doesn’t stick around long enough to bore you with what is basically standard 1979-vintage choppy funky Post Punk. Oddly, Stop Eject aim for Gang of Four and Delta 5 but end up hitting early REM at their most splenetic – that is, if Michael Stipe’s lyrical obsessions had been aged, judgmental electronic listening and sending devices orbiting the Earth rather than fields and stuff.
