Santagold   Lights Out  release date – 11 August 2008

Feeling the love of several radio stations should ensure a. that you already know this song and b. that it is an immediate hit on release; and quite rightly so.   

Santogold stands out from a plethora of current (although some very good) female singer/songwriters simply because her 80s influences are so different. 

Instrumentally Lights Out has a Pixie-ish feel to it but vocally it has a much more blissful, pop sensibility and with a chorus so dreamy it’ll be in your head and make you feel better for at least the next 20 minutes.  If there is a better record released this week I have yet to hear it.  Now, where’s that replay button.
