Released 15 August 2008
From the opening playground taunt of ‘na na na na na’, you know Pink’s on prime form and back to the ‘screw you’ roots that have made her songs the scourge of dumped men everywhere. In light of her recent marriage break up comes this fist pumping rebuke to relationships that’s guaranteed to cause a sharp rise in ‘hairdryer mistaken for microphone’ injuries as women everywhere bounce around on their beds singing along. While it may begin dragging along on a trundling verse of childish jibes, it soon erupts into a deliriously addictive chorus with danceable synth undertones that really elevate ‘So What’ above your typical guitar heavy break up songs.
Pink’s back to waz all over the gimmicky pretenders to the pop/rock crown (I’m looking at you Ms. Perry). It’s not a moment too soon.
