Peter Bruntnell – “8 Lane Highway”

Who? A talented journeyman, that's who.

Triumphant Sound Records, released 30/03/2009.

For a man who is not a household name to still be making music, having started in the 90s and birthed six solo albums, is pretty pleasing.  It gets harder and harder for people to be able to do this stuff for a living and so it’s nice to find out that the talented can still graft away and get somewhere.

Peter Bruntnell
is one such gent, this being the lead single from his seventh studio album, and thankfully his perseverance is allied with talent.  “8 Lane Highway” is an enjoyable driving song, reminiscent of “Learn To Fly” era Foo Fighters but with a more unashamedly indie feel and a great chorus.  So, in short, enjoyable and worthy.  And with an added, Six Million Dollar Man style “shuuuunununununununu” sound for good measure.
