Leni Ward – Opening Doors

'sounding like an in tune Kate Nash.'

Released August 2nd on Library Recordings

A slow burner of a track which builds and builds through to an optimistic end. Vocally sounding like an in tune Kate Nash and musically far superior. ‘Opening Doors’ is the first single by up and coming artist Leni Ward from the album Hope.

Beginning with pounding keyboards, providing a jangling and uplifting feel, ‘Opening Doors is the story of a break-up but with a glass half full approach. Hand-claps are the percussion and aided with sweet vocals, Leni Ward successfully layers a melody to create a catchy summer tune.
She refuse to dwell on the past, instead looking to the future as the song gradually builds to the chorus and a crescendo: ‘And now that I'm free, I'm going out dancing/And now that I'm free, I'm climbing up mountains/And now that I'm free, I'm gonna go everywhere you wouldn't go with me.

Leni Ward
is certainly an interesting and kooky artist who is worth keeping an eye out for in the future.
