Nina Schofield

Fill the bath, unplug the phone and get the champers out.

Listening to Nina Schofield should be accompanied by a bath filled with scented bubbles and a very large glass of champagne (hopefully not by yourself- Ed).

Classically trained Nina is a homegrown talant from down south (Winchester), and producing soulful ballads far too wise for someone of her 20 years. The songs on her Myspace profile page are a little bit samey but you get the general idea of what she's about. The song that stands out the most is "You make me wanna fly" with a catchy opener and flowing rhythm while "I think I love him" is a little irritating with Mariah Carey-esque warbling that is a bit too X factor for my liking. Having said that, "Record and play" is a fantastically upbeat and memorable song with a brilliant arrangement.

Not for everyone but lovely to listen to on a sunday afternoon in the park with the sun shining.
