Local band The Common already have quite a following, have played the joiners several times and as always gave an energetic performance with plenty of flair and audience interaction.
Kicking the microphone lead out and forgetting the words to the song may have sent the set down the toilet for most bands but The Common recovered with professional mastery and kept the audience on side.
Front man Michael Brown captivates the audience with insightful, lyrics that captures life as it is with humour and honesty. The catchy tunes ensure that songs like “I want to be famous” and “Get boozy” with the Ghostbusters theme will stay stuck in your head for a long time after (until you hear the Go compare tune anyway).
All in all a fantastic performance from a fantastic band who are bringing geek hop to the masses so grab your skinny jeans, ridiculous glasses and embrace geek hop ‘cos it’s coming and you heard it here first.
