The thing I love about the Joiners is that very occasionally you are introduced to a band that will literally rock your socks off. This is one of those times. New Politics jump on stage, grab you by the ears and swing you to the rafters with unbridled vigor that leaves you wide eyed and gob smacked.
With what seems like an unlimited supply of enthusiasm, they gave us a visually stunning performance with some dance moves that take your breath away. Vocalist David Boyd is a captivating frontman with some mad moves and definitely engages the audience, backed up by Sean H on the guitar and Poul Amaliel, who was dressed for the occasion in a white shirt and black waistcoat, on drums.
Catchy tunes and a devotion to the lyrics have made a deep impression, so much so that their free download "Yeah Yeah Yeah" has been on repeat on my MP3 player for the last four days.
I'm hoping that if I bang on about them enough, that their return to England will be swift and the album release imminent.
