Klaxons@ White Rabbit-02/06/2010

'funky beats and thumping riffs...'

If you were caught in the middle of the mosh pit or were anywhere near the front then you would have come out of this gig with a lot of fluid loss (snigger-Ed). This was the first gig of Klaxons' return tour and Plymouth certainly showed them how it was done- they rocked the White Rabbit venue and everyone inside of it.

With their indie-rave sound still proving to be a hit they moved the venue with fantastic new material and proven songs from their previous albums. The crowd did not stop moving throughout and even sang to drown out the lyrics of Jamie during ‘It’s Not Over Yet’. Another classic from their first album Myths Of The Near Future, ‘Golden Skans’, was greeted with great excitement from the crowd and you could see on the faces of the band just how humbled they really were. James, the bands keyboard player, decided that he had to join in the excitement and had a go at crowd surfing after seeing so many members of the crowd do so previously.

The band certainly know how to have fun and keep a crowd going with their funky beats and thumping riffs. Jumping along to each song as much as the audience showed that they were enjoying this performance as much as they would any big arena or festival.

With a well deserved encore they returned to finish the show with ‘Atlantis to Interzone’. It was great to see Klaxons performing so well again after a break from touring and they certainly kicked their return off with a bang. Very pleasing for both fans and band I am sure.
