According
to poll taken by gay website Out.com, David Bowie’s 'The Rise And Fall Of
Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars' is the ‘gayest’ album of all time.
A panel of gay luminaries,
including Boy George, Jake Shears and Darren Hayes, all voted to find the top
100 gayest efforts and Bowie’s ‘stormed’ to number one.
Also well placed in the poll
were The Smiths at number 2 and 6 (with ‘The Smiths’ and ‘The Queen is Dead’
respectively), Tracy Chapman at 3 and Antony and the Johnsons at 10
with his Mercury winning effort ‘I am a Bird now’.
Quite how ‘Believe’ by Cher only came in at 82 is
beyond us, but anyway….
