The Vines have been forced to cancel a string of shows in Australia and Japan amid fears surrounding the mental health of frontman Craig Nicholls.



The Australian rockers posted a message on their website which said Nicholls's health has "deteriorated extremely rapidly" over the last month. The frontman suffers from Asperger's Syndrome and has been forced to seek "immediate help" for his condition.



The statement read: "We are all absolutely devastated that we've been forced to cancel all upcoming shows as there's nothing we love more than playing on stage before an enthusiastic audience. We ask for your understanding in this situation." Band members Hamish Rosser, Ryan Griffiths and Brad Heald went on to thank fans, friends and family for their ongoing support.
