Mitch Mitchell, drummer for the legendary Jimi Hendrix Experience, has passed away at the age of 61.
He was found in a hotel room in Portland, Oregon, on the morning of 12th November, 2008.
It is thought that he died of natural causes.
Mitchell came from a jazz background, bringing his skills to some of the Jimi Hendrix Experience's most famous songs, including Voodoo Child (Slight Return) (click to watch).
Mitchell also drummed with the Dirty Mac, a supergroup consisting of Keith Richards, John Lennon, and Eric Clapton assembled for the Rolling Stone's Rock and Roll Circus event in 1968.
The English drummer had been touring on the 2008 Experience Hendrix tour. Portland was the final show of the tour.
