This past Monday saw the 28th anniversary of John Lennon's assassination by Mark David Chapman in New York, but son Julian has said that the date is not one he reflects on. He wrote on his website: 'Something very sad happened on this date many years ago but I don't live and breathe this date the way many of you do".
The English singer-songwriter added: " I appreciate your intentions and prayers but I refuse to be saddened by this day or any other memorial day".
Chapman is still serving a sentence for the murder of Lennon and has been refused parole five times.
