Michael Jackson has ruled himself out of a possible reunion tour with the Jackson Five despite stories to the contrary where older brother Jermain had said it would almost certainly happen.
"My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we've certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them," said the multi-platinum selling artist in a statement today.
Fevered speculation was begun by Jermaine who said in Australia on Wednesday that the group were working on music and logistics for a planned tour. "It is going to be more like a family affair," he was quoted as saying by the Australian Associated Press. "(Younger sister) Janet's going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5 ... Michael, Randy and the whole family. ... We're in the studio, we're planning on being out there next year."
Michael has never talked up the possibility of a reunion and was not with his siblings when they received a lifetime achievement award in September. The group has not toured together since 1984.
