Franz Ferdinand complete third album

Glaswegian art-rockers Franz Ferdinand have finished recording their third album.

According to Billboard.com lead singer Alex Kapranos said "It was always on our minds to make a dirty pop record". He described the record as "the opposite of punk/pop" which he belived had taken a wonderful thing and removed the dirt from it .

Before hitting the recording studios the band demoed the songs in Glasgow. The experience was so good that instead of going to London to record the album they decided to switch the recording venue  and stay north of the border.

"We decided the ones we did in Glasgow were much better" said Kapranos. " There was a real dirtiness, edge and attitude. We should go to a big studio and spend millions, but logic is never appropriate when you're making music. You've gotta trust your instincts."
