Despite only being with the band for four years Barrets legacy amongst music fans is undeniable and continues to fascinate, even to this day.

"The City Wakes" is the worlds first officlal tribute to Barrett since he died in 2006  and it is being rightfully held in the place where he was born and died. 

Some of the highlights include The City Wakes Musical Production which features some of Barretts best loved work and "The Other Room: Syd Barrets Art and Life" a exhibition of paintings by Barrett.

 There will also be a series of talks held at branches of Borders bookshops in Cambridge and also at Charing Cross.
