In news that will leave as many cheering as it will crying, it seems that troubled music giant EMI have dropped Danish group Alphabeat (top Alphabeat fact: three of the group's members are called "Anders").
The group have been one of the breakout acts of the year, with their debut album This Is Alphabeat entering the top ten. Singles such as Fascination and Boyfriend (click to watch) have been massive hits amongst both pop and indie music fans.
However, despite heavy promotion, the band have failed to make significant progress in countries outside the UK.
Though details are hazy, the bands manager has said that current single What Is Happening is set to be the last single taken from the current album.
In further news, quirky rockers Mystery Jets are also said to be without a label. Is no wonky pop band safe from the cull?
