There are worst bands out there that deserve more of a slating but at the moment I just don’t understand the hype surrounding Fuck Buttons. An experimental electronic noise duo who fail to offer near enough destruction as Sunn O))) or Merzbow, nor supply the intricate delicacies of Murcof or Amon Tobin.

Witnessing several support slots and festival live performances, anticipated walls of noise have always been smothered by a blanket of boredom. Occasionally ringing out with the soothing sound introduction of lullabies, they get stuck on the same attempted formula of ‘beautiful noise’.    Imagine the entertainment of two men turning knobs on (and off) stage, as they seemingly try to make a mends of what seems to be a deprived youth by using toys as instruments and trying to create the stale sounds of the washed out underground rave scene. Whilst everyone was probably dancing to excessive organised crime waving their glow sticks ten years ago, these neurotic nerds were too busy sitting behind their computers playing online Warcraft.

With their debut album released by ATP Records and mastered by Bob Weston, this should be a band I like but for now… Fuck ' could someone please press the eject' Buttons…
