White Lies bassist and lyric writers Charles Cave has admitted that he was starved of love as a child, and that this has affected his writing.

‘I was underfed, dressed in rags, it was all very unhappy.  People at school didn’t like me because I smelt of piss the whole time. Worst of all though, and the thing that still keeps my pillow damp at night, is that my Mummy never cuddled me. ‘

‘I guess that goes some way to explaining all the sanctimonious, wrist-slitting turd I come out with now.’

Brandon Flowers has sacked his stylist after seeing pictures of himself wearing the jacket with bird feather shoulders.   He told Gobshout  ‘he was making me look like a right c*nt.’
