John Barnes enters rap’s ‘Hall of Fame’

John Barnes has been inducted into rap’s ‘Hall of Fame’ joining an elite group which includes American rap superstars Snoop Dogg and Jay-Zee.


John Barnes has been inducted into rap’s ‘Hall of Fame’ joining an elite group   which includes American rap superstars Snoop Dogg and Jay-Zee.

The English rapper, who also went on to star at football for Liverpool, England and Channel Five, expressed his delight at finally getting recognition for his rhymes on ‘World in Motion’ and ‘The Anfield Rap’. 

He told a packed Hollywood crowd ‘I’m made up by this award but couldn’t have done it wivout my crew so big shout to Kenny D, lil Phil Neal and my man Brucie G.

 He also had a message for Britain’s youth to ‘leave the knives at home’ and had specially written a verse which he hopes will inspire today’s youth:-

‘Yo kids, don’t be a sinner, knives ain’t for stabbin they’re for eatin yo dinner’
