Rumours had been running rife about the King Of Bongo Bong ever since he let slip that his famed track Mr Bobby, instead of being an ode to Bob Marley, was actually a misprint and should have read Mr Blobby. Fortunately, Gobshout was able to catach up with Chao for a little question time…
“Yeah, well…you know…” Chao explained. “I sing in all different languages so as not to be tied down by The Man’s borders. Mr Blobby was born and raised in the UK’s very own Crinkly Bottom, but nowadays no Brit wants anything to do with him. The song was my way to unite the two of us, since we’re practically living parallel lives. I feel for him, man. I’m just sad he didn’t run for Crimbo Number One again: he would’ve wooped Rage’s behind so hard.”
There has also been talk of a duet, but Chao was quick to deny any such rumours. “My lyrical ability could never live up to the Blobster’s melodic prowess. The man’s a genius. He can come gunge me any day of the week.”
