Glamorous Indie Rock N' Roll

Put those points on....

It was the musical movement that exploded and, for many, defined the Noughties.  Kickstarted by The Strokes and immortalised by Mr Brandon Flowers, it knocked traditional boybands to the floor, kicked sand in the face of speed garage and influenced a million wardrobes.

This list has tried to take the pivotal bands, and present a song that perhaps is not the one we would naturally associate with them- after all, we've all heard 'Last Nite' a million times haven't we?  As such we have 'You Only Live Once' from The Strokes, 'The Beginning of the Twist' from The Futureheads, rather than 'Hounds of Love', and 'Like Eating Glass' rather than 'Flux' from Bloc Party.

Of course, there are many out there that have had enough of these tunes now, believe they have sounded the death knell for 'real' indie music (whatever that is) and would prefer to confine them to the indie graveyard.  But do to so would be to ignore some of the best pop music of the last 10 years.  So, if you're up for it, let Spotify take you on a journey into the heart of the indie disco.
