The Independent-George Lamb Love-In

So, once you get the hang of it, saying “Shabba!” is smart. Good grief man! Are you mad!

If you are familiar with Radio 6’s George Lamb then last weeks article in The Independent has to be read to be believed.

The paper devoted FOUR FUCKING PAGES!!! in an article sub-headed ‘Forget Brand, George Lamb is the future of music’.  I shit you not.

Four pages on that annoying prick?  The future of broadcasting?  I’ll take that bet right now.

I don’t know anyone who likes the show, I do though know people who detest him, and I know there is a Facebook group devoted to getting him off air. What I don’t know is, given all the evidence, how the hell Mr Tim Walker can justify a four page article which is little more than a PR exercise for George Lamb.  (It wasn’t exactly a slow news day what with the Glenrothes by-election and something similar going on in the US.)

In the four pages here is possibly the choicest quote from the article:-

‘His best loved catchphrase "Shabba!"…may leave the listener baffled. But stick with it; once you get the hang of the thing, it's extremely funny and – whisper it – rather smart, too.’

So, once you get the hang of it, saying “Shabba!” is smart.  Good grief man!   Are you mad!

Tim Walker, I have a couple of questions I wouldn’t mind asking you?

1.  Just how long have you known George Lamb?

2.  Do you spit or swallow?
