I moved to the beautiful island of Jersey last June and have spent the majority of my time looking for decent live music. To say that Jersey is the champion of covers bands is a slight understatement. I'm not saying that covers bands are bad, it's just that they have their place at weddings, christmas parties and bingo halls and I don't want to go and see the same band do the same songs week after week. Fortunately, I have discovered open mic nights where you can find some real hidden local talents and occasionally you come across a gig that doesn't suck giant asses. I will let you know when I find these gigs because I get get proper excited about them.
